Do I have to pay to work with a Medicare broker?
No. Jason is paid a commission by the insurance company whose plan you choose. Using a broker does not add a fee to your premium.
What is the difference between Medicare Advantage and a Medicare Supplement?
Medicare Advantage (Part C) delivers your Part A and Part B benefits through a private plan, usually with a network of doctors and often with drug coverage included. A Medicare Supplement, also called Medigap, works alongside Original Medicare and helps pay the costs Medicare leaves to you, and you add a separate Part D plan for prescriptions. Which one fits depends on your doctors, your prescriptions and your budget.
When can I change my Medicare plan?
Most people can change during the Annual Enrollment Period, October 15 to December 7, with the new coverage starting January 1. If you are already on a Medicare Advantage plan, you have a second window from January 1 to March 31. Life events such as moving, losing employer coverage, or a plan leaving your area can open a Special Enrollment Period. Medicare Supplement insurance follows different rules: you can apply at other times, but outside your Medigap Open Enrollment Period the insurer may ask health questions unless you have a guaranteed-issue right. Call Jason and he will tell you which window applies to you.
What happens if my doctor leaves my plan's network?
Networks can change during the year. Call Jason and he will check whether your doctor is in network on other plans available in your county, and tell you whether you are in a window that lets you switch.
Do I need Part B if I am still working at 65?
It depends on your employer's coverage and the size of the company. Getting this wrong can mean a late enrollment penalty you pay for life, so it is worth a short call before your 65th birthday.
Can my son or daughter sit in on the call?
Yes. Many people have a spouse or an adult child on the call, and Jason will speak with them directly if you ask him to.
You don’t have to figure out every Medicare question on your own.
